Scaffolders supplied by TradeConnex

Hiring scaffolders through TradeConnex

Scaffold goes up before most trades can start and comes down after they finish, so a scaffold crew that’s late or short holds up the whole program. Any scaffolding work where a person or object could fall more than four metres has to be done by a licensed scaffolder, and the licence class must match the scaffold being built.

We supplied scaffolding professionals to the Parramatta Light Rail, part of more than 100 talent, including machine operators and electricians, sourced for the conversion of an existing heavy rail line to dual-track light rail. We also placed scaffolders at the Ravensthorpe nickel mine in Western Australia as it reopened during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, where crews worked under extra health and safety rules on site.

Tell us the scaffold type, from modular systems to tube and coupler or hung scaffolds, and we’ll match the licence class to it. We sight every scaffolder’s High Risk Work Licence before they’re put forward, on top of the experience screen, interview and reference checks every candidate goes through. To support the crew, we can also supply riggers and dogmen and labourers for rail, industrial and commercial projects.

What they do on site

  • Erect, alter and dismantle scaffold to the approved design
  • Install handrails, toe boards, ladder and stair access and edge protection
  • Build modular, tube and coupler and hung scaffolds within licence class
  • Inspect scaffold and complete handover and tagging
  • Load, unload and move scaffold components safely
  • Work with riggers, crane crews and site supervisors

Scaffolders FAQs

It depends on the scaffold. Basic (SB) covers modular and prefabricated systems, Intermediate (SI) adds tube and coupler and cantilevered scaffolds, and Advanced (SA) adds hung and suspended scaffolds. Tell us what’s being built and we’ll match the licence.

Yes. We’ve placed scaffolders on the Parramatta Light Rail and at the Ravensthorpe nickel mine in WA.

Yes. We sight each scaffolder’s High Risk Work Licence and White Card before they’re put forward.

Scaffolders are booked for at least four hours per day, so a crew can come in for one erect or stay for the length of the job.
