Site engineer recruitment

Site engineers for civil, building and renewable energy projects, placed into permanent roles or on contract for a stage of the build. We check their qualifications, the projects they've worked on and their references before you meet them.

Hiring site engineer through TradeConnex

A site engineer is the link between the drawings and the crews. They set out the work, check it against the design, raise RFIs when something doesn’t fit and keep the quality records that let a job close out cleanly. A good one saves rework and keeps the site team moving.

Most of our site engineer placements are permanent, through our permanent recruitment service. We also place engineers on contract when a project needs extra cover through a busy phase. On Wollar Solar Farm in the Central Tablelands, engineers were among the white-collar roles we filled for several contractors, as part of more than 100 people placed across the build.

We recruit site engineers for civil infrastructure, commercial construction and utility-scale solar. Tell us the project type, the stage it’s at and who the engineer will report to, and we’ll shortlist people who have done that work before.

Each candidate is screened on their project history, interviewed face to face and reference checked before we put them forward.

What they do on site

  • Set out works from drawings and survey control
  • Check work on site against drawings, specifications and inspection and test plans
  • Raise RFIs and track design changes through to the crews
  • Keep quality records, test results and as-built information up to date
  • Coordinate subcontractors and daily site activities
  • Report progress and issues to the project engineer or site manager
