Site manager recruitment

Site managers for residential, commercial, industrial and civil builds, recruited for permanent roles or on contract to see a project through. We confirm the jobs they've run, interview them in person and speak to their referees.

Site Manager supplied by TradeConnex

Hiring site manager through TradeConnex

The site manager runs the day. They set the short-term program, coordinate subcontractors and deliveries, lead prestarts, check quality and deal with the client, the certifier and the neighbours. When the site manager is right, the rest of the project gets easier.

Builders tend to hire site managers on fit as much as skill. Someone who has run three-storey residential jobs won’t necessarily suit a large warehouse or a civil package. We ask what you build, the size of the jobs, the team they’ll lead and how your business runs, then shortlist people who have done that work.

A site manager also depends on the crews below them. We supply those through labour hire: on Oakey 2 Solar Farm we provided more than 90 talent, including solar labourers, excavator, skid steer and telehandler operators and quality assurance teams, for repairs and rectifications. On Wellington Solar Farm we supplied more than 80 for the mechanical installation.

Most site manager placements are permanent, through our permanent recruitment service, and we can place one on contract for a single build. We recruit across residential, commercial and industrial construction and civil infrastructure.

What they do on site

  • Run day-to-day site operations and the short-term program
  • Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries and plant
  • Lead prestarts and inductions and enforce site safety
  • Inspect work for quality and close out defects
  • Keep site diaries, records and progress reports
  • Liaise with the project manager, client, certifiers and neighbours
