The Greenway Cooks to Cove, Dulwich Hill, NSW

Location: Dulwich Hill, New South Wales

Project Timeline: Nov 2023 – Dec 2025

TradeConnex logo outline

Often described as Sydney’s version of the New York High Line, the Greenway is a roughly 2km active-travel corridor connecting the Inner West, with shared paths, foreshore walks, public art and restored green space. TradeConnex supplied the civil labour hire workforce behind the build, from the first sod turn through to completion.

The Challenge

This was a complex civil build in a live, constrained environment. The corridor runs alongside the Inner West Light Rail, and much of the work had to be carried out during possessions, the booked windows when light rail services stop so crews can work safely. The scope was demanding, including three tunnels beneath live roads, a 175m cantilevered path over Hawthorne Canal, elevated steel platforms along a steep embankment, and extensive earthworks, drainage and landscaping. Work like this needs a large, dependable labour pool that can flex with the programme and turn up ready to work safely, every time.

The Solution

Over the life of the project, TradeConnex placed more than 200 workers on the Greenway. Rather than a single mobilisation, we provided a steady, rolling workforce across every stage of construction, keeping reliable, site-familiar crews available for both day works and light rail possessions. That consistency gave the delivery team the flexibility to scale the workforce up and down as each stage demanded, without compromising on safety or quality.

The Result

With dependable labour in place from start to finish, the Greenway was carried through to successful completion. The finished corridor now gives the Inner West a landmark walking and cycling link, and it stands as one of the largest workforce commitments TradeConnex has made to a single project.
