The Parramatta Road Urban Amenity Improvement Project was a $13 million-plus streetscape upgrade that transformed nine streets across Annandale and Leichhardt into a greener, safer and more walkable part of the Inner West. The scope included undergrounding of power assets, new streetlighting, stormwater improvements, kerb replacement, road and footpath pavements, landscaping, retaining walls, elevated grated walkways, linemarking, signage and public art. TradeConnex supplied skilled labour to the project, working as part of the wider site team.
The Challenge
Streetscape works across nine separate streets in a live, busy urban area are detailed and staged, ranging from underground services and drainage through to kerbing, paving, landscaping and finishing works. It called for reliable skilled labour that could move between tasks and locations and keep pace as the project progressed, all while working safely around residents and traffic.
The Solution
TradeConnex supplied 25 skilled labourers across the project. Rather than a single large mobilisation, we provided steady, flexible labour to support the head contractor’s team across the various stages and streets, keeping reliable, site-familiar people on the job as the work moved forward.
The Result
Our skilled labour helped keep the works moving through to successful completion, contributing to a transformed streetscape that has given Annandale and Leichhardt safer footpaths, better lighting and greener public spaces.
