Stage 3 of the refurbishment and fitout works at St Paul’s College delivered a series of bathroom and amenity upgrades across the historic Camperdown campus. TradeConnex supplied the general labour hire behind the build, on a program defined by a hard, immovable deadline.
The Challenge
The work had to be carried out in a very short shutdown period over the Christmas holidays, starting in late November and finishing in time for the return of students in early February, with no ability to extend the program. It was delivered in a live environment with minimal impact on students, and with care taken around the sensitive heritage aspects of the building. A compressed, high-stakes schedule like this needs dependable labour that turns up ready and keeps pace from day one.
The Solution
TradeConnex supplied 10 reliable general labourers across the shutdown. Rather than a large mobilisation, we provided steady, flexible workforce coverage exactly when and where it was needed, helping the team push through a demanding scope: a complete strip out and refurbishment of 4 bathrooms with new showers and toilet cubicles, the conversion of a laundry into a new kitchenette, and the renovation of an existing kitchenette.
The Result
With dependable labour in place throughout, the works were completed on time and the college was handed back ready for the return of students in early February. A tight deadline met in a live, heritage setting, with no room to spare.
